David Montero
Architect

Born in Ecuador, educated across two continents —graduated from the École Nationale d'Architecture Paris-Val-de-Seine—, self-employed, today Architect DE. Before and during my studies, I worked on several private sector projects as an entrepreneur: architectural plans, 3D renders, building permits, among other activities. These experiences taught me that architecture is felt before it is drawn — and that it is also shared: forging ephemeral architecture in times of crisis, for those who need it most.

Coming from elsewhere has given me an open mind and a distinct approach to architecture. Every culture builds differently, inhabits differently, lives light differently. That sensitivity is what I bring to every project — and what photography helps me formulate.

Architecture and photography nourish each other. Architecture immerses itself in the culture and life of people at a given moment. Photography forces me to look at what is already there — before imagining what could be.

Together we can help

Behind every project there is a way of understanding architecture: not as luxury, but as necessity. An architect may not be able to change the whole world, but they can change one person's world. With your support we build dignified housing and ephemeral architecture for people living in hard-to-reach areas, wherever they need it most. Every donation goes entirely to materials and construction. Every wall is a shelter, every roof is a home.
